As I read, I felt as if this story was representative of so many that do not have an opportunity to tell their own stories. I could not help but to feel for Jessica and her friends as they had to endure such a nightmare that would not only change their lives forever. Not only that, it also put them in a position where they must fend for their lives in order to survive. This is a wonderful story of triumph over tragedy and how the human spirit reigns even in the midst of constant chaos. If you are a true urban fiction reader, this title is for you. This is my first read by Mr. Blue, but it definitely won't me my last.

Treasure E. Blue is back and he's arrived on the scene with his infamous voice ripe with life and it's hard knocks and choices. Jessica, Vonda, Lyn, and Tiny are best friends that all attend the same catholic school, their lifestyles vary but their dreams are the same. The young ladies are sojourning through their hood with girlhood crushes, academic challenges, dreams of college, and fighting off the jealous neighborhood bullies.
Harlem Girl Lost 2 magnifies Treasure's unique style of storytelling that captivates the reader while reaching a touching connection with his characters. This tale will enthrall you with such a hopeful yet dismal plot that your emotions will be on a roller coaster ride as you hold on for dear life while withstanding the powerful blows that these girls endure. Friendship, loyalty, jealousy, disappointment, heartbreak, suspense, and love are in abundance amidst another of Treasures' treasures. My only concern was attempting to connect the title with the story...but in reading the prologue, I understood his aim in presenting an alternative to Jessica's painful life. Because my curiosity was piqued, I went back to revisit book 1 for an even more pleasant acquaintance. #1 was the epitome of Treasure and mos def the classic he deemed it upon completion! #2 was a good read, but in my opinion, it was lacking the depth that I'm accustomed to when reading a treasure of my dude Treasure E. Blue. Is this a worthy read...read the author's name, recognize his STAMP...and follow your readers instinct and get this one for your pleasure!!! Treasure E. Blue...what a treasure to the literary world! Continue to bless us with your TREASURES!!! GOD bless you my brotha!! 4.38****

This book has all one could ask for in a 'dayum good read'...betrayal,love,loyalty,murder,suspense and anything else a reader looks for in a good read...Treasure Blue is a Great Story Teller that paints a picture so vivid in your mind that you feel like you are actually there.
The story of the 'Get 'Um Girls' is one that will stay with you as any other of his story's have. This man has a way of getting the reader to connect with the characters whether you like them or not.Take a ride with Jessica,Vonda,Tiny and Lynn through their trials and tribulations of life.
I can't touch on it without telling the whole thing...to me,that means every reader should have Harlem Girl 2 in their collection...on the top shelf ('dayum good read' shelf).
I highly recommend Harlem Girl 2 to anybody that reads...you won't be disappointed....patiently waiting on the next one Mr. Blue.

I've read all of Treasure Blue's books, so without a doubt I was intrigue to read what Harlem Girl Lost II would be about, since the first one was a complete story. While reading I was completely lost because I was looking for the connection between the two books which never came. That aside I continue to read and immerse myself into to lives of the "Get Um Girls" Jessica, Vonda, Lynn and Tiny. Treasure took us back to when the crack epidemic first hit the inner cities. Jessica and her friends were your typical high school friends , where you have one who is strong, one who is diplomatic one who is weak and one who is just plain jealous but have a good heart. The girls ran into some problems with older girls who were lost in life at the time and decided to bully theme. One dreadful day an incident took place and that change the rest of their lives forever. These girls where dealt a bad hand within the justice system that took their innocents from them forever. After receiving their 6 year sentence the Get Um Girls motto was " We're only doing two days in prison the day we enter and the day we get release the in between don't count". So six years pass and Harlem is on fire crack is everywhere it takes the young, old, War Veterans and whole families. While I got what Treasure was conveying I was still trying to find the connection between the two stories and towards the end I found Silver and Chance then I went back to the beginning and read the authors note and then it was all Treasure wrote. This story was befitting for what took place in that era during that time another reality. You most definitely have to read Harlem Girl Lost one in order to understand the dreadful story of the other reality. Welcome back Treasure!
